Castro Laboreiro Portugal

El pueblo de Castro Laboreiro
Its a few days ago that we were in Galicia,  but I had not time to write a small report Castro Laboreiro
On the west coast of Spain we find Galicia region witch is the best place to paddle in European winter.

We travelled from Gohian, on the banks of the Minho to the National Park of Peneda - Geres . We take the road that would take us up to 1000m altitude, where we found the town of Castro Laboreiro .

We´re in a rural village were the cattle walk on the street peacefully.Trying to paddle both sections we arrive early and at 10 am we were at the entrance of the river. The gauge is on 2.40 meter, the perfect level to do it all !There we found some Czech kayakers, Jakub Sevidi, Jakub Nemec and his friends and decided kayaking together all the tranche. The Castro is a river carved into rock that has no major complication, with a hight flows appears some siphons in the middle section that forces to be reckoned with .We found 2 portages in the upper section and one more portage after the 3 classic jumps.

Here we have some photos of Ladislav Dzembis , Jakub and Nacho Belt .
